Two very different images.....but plans change. However, it is supposed to be gorgeous here today so we will go for a walk around the trails in our neighborhood and probably stop by the playground and play for awhile. I have been trying to get us outdoors every chance we have. I think it helps us both be in a better mood-all that Vitamin D, fresh air and exercise. I normally don't have a day where we have no plans so I'm using this unexpected free day as our own mini-vacation right here in Denver.
Just so you don't feel too bad for my lost vacation, Jesse and I will be taking our first trip away from Hannah in April. We are going to Vegas for a few days while she goes to her Pops and Poni's house in Oklahoma city. So, I will get that vacation I was looking forward too but this time it will be with my husband which is exponentially greater than by myself. I hope that I am able to enjoy the trip and not just worry about Hannah. That is one reason we chose vegas versus a cruise or international destination-we will have cell phone access and easy flight access to get back to her quickly if needed. This will help me enjoy our vacation more!
Have you been to Vegas? I have not. I'm a little nervous with all the "city of sin" and "debauchery" comments and jokes out there. I don't want that but I've been assured by many people that this is not true. I've been told these things exist in Denver too but we choose not to participate in them, just as we will choose not to participate in them in Vegas. Let me hear your comments on what to do in Vegas.
Well, I need to use my free time/Hannah's nap time in getting ready for our day of outside fun! The days of just picking up my purse and walking out the door are long gone. I have to prepare food, sippy cups, toys, diapers, etc. Enjoy your day! And a special shout out to my MIL, Sandy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Have fun at the park!
ReplyDeleteHi Hunter! Great job on the blog! Thanks for including us. We're happy to see updates of you and the family. We're going to Vegas in April too on the weekend of the 15th. What about you guys? We also haven't been and we're taking Karina. I'm hoping we will still get to do things since she is still portable and sleeps anywhere. If you happen to go before us I'd love to hear about it. Maybe I'll be surprised to know it's not that baby unfriendly.
ReplyDeleteVegas in December for thRODEO & shopin @ thCowboy Stores~~WooHoo. Vegas in the spring, don't know but I bet there are some great shows! Have you seen any of the Cirque de Soleil shows? They are amazin!
ReplyDeleteJustin always talks about how Celine Dion was his favorite thing in Vegas. Pretty much his favorite thing ever--he talks about it a lot! I think he and Jesse saw it together?
ReplyDeleteI have been to Vegas. But I guess you knew that :-) It's really nice in April, usually in the 80s.
ReplyDeleteThere are things that you will choose to avoid. Definitely don't take anything handed to you on the street. But I think it's just as easy to avoid those things with all of the shopping, dining, and appropriate entertainment that is available. Regarding "Sin City" see Romans 5:20-21 "But where sin increased, Grace increased all the more. So that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." My pastor growing up called Las Vegas "Grace City" in response to this verse, and it really is a true assessment of what is happening in Vegas!
If you have specific questions about Vegas, let me know. I can find out the answer if I don't know myself!
As you well know I am not a mommy...but I have taken care of my fair share of kids...mainly Randall and Tyler...and I can relate to what you wrote about not being able to leave the house with just a purse. One time we took the boys to Luby's and I forgot to bring Tyler's puppy and paci...well he just so happened to become very unhappy at the restaurant and boy did we need those two things!!! Big mistake on my part! However, the worst is getting everything together for going to the pool!!! But believe me...we NEVER FORTET THE PUPPY!!!!
